Nestled across the eastern slopes of Cape Town's table Mountain, Kirstenbosch is known as of the greatest botanic gardens in the world, Kirstenbosch definitely lives up to its claim to fame. You could spend all day wandering around the different trails, admiring over 7,000 plant species, and taking in the surrounding landscape.

Take as much time as you'd like in Africa's most beautiful garden, just make sure to leave time for your most epic picnic! We love setting up shop in lawn by the concert area but there are plenty of beautiful settings to chose from. If you are visiting in the summer, make sure to check website for the summer concert events.

By the way! If you didn't pack a picnic, don't worry! You can order a beautifully curated picnic basket at the Kirstenbosch Tearoom Restaurant (and while they are delicious, they do come with a pretty hefty price tag).

And make sure you take a stroll on the Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway! It was inspired by a snake skeleton and originally named The Boomslang, meaning Tree Snake. Just a heads up, the walkway tends to dip and sway with the wind!
