"Be Kind to One Another" - Ellen Degeneres

Brian and I have been on the road now for almost two months. Two months of excitement, fear, laughter, and anxiety; two months of saying hello and farewell to friends and family; two months of counting down the days until we leave; two months of turning on the news or scrolling through Facebook to find out there was another mass shooting; another attack overseas; another kid bullied in school; another innocent life taken.

We live in a world filled with hate, fear, destruction, and jealousy, but we also live in a world filled with love, compassion, hope, and kindness.  As we sit at the airport, ready to board our first flight on our journey, we want to remember all the positive in the world.

Brian and I don't consider ourselves well versed in politics or worldly events, but we do know that we, as a nation, need to step into our future with positivity and change. It may not be much, but while we have this incredible gift to see the world, we want to continue spreading the message of unconditional love. We want to show that no matter where you live or how you were raised, we are all the same and that love is love

If you have ever watched The Ellen Degeneres Show, she ends every episode with a simple yet powerful quote, "Be kind to one another." It seems so easy, so basic. Be kind. Her dedication to showing kindness to everyone is truly remarkable and it has inspired us to do the same. We may just be two people, but change can only start from within.
